Learning feels like fun

A Creative Space for Curious Kids

WHERE LEARNING TASTES GOOD

Creative Culinary Kids was built on the idea that cooking is one of the best ways for kids to learn about the world and themselves.

When kids cook, they practice patience, teamwork, creativity, and independence all at once. They learn to try again when something doesn’t work the first time. They discover that mistakes are part of learning. Most importantly, they gain the confidence that comes from doing something with their own two hands.

Our kitchen is welcoming, encouraging, and full of curiosity. Kids are free to ask questions, explore new foods, and celebrate what makes their tastes unique. Around here, we believe every child deserves a space where learning feels exciting and success is possible.

N

Create recipes from scratch learning vital skills.

Our cooking classes give kids a chance to jump in, get their hands moving, and discover what they’re capable of. They practice real skills, learn how ingredients work together, and experience the pride of creating something from start to finish.

These classes go beyond recipes. Kids build confidence, independence, and problem-solving skills that they carry with them long after the apron comes off.

Ages 4 to 6

Our youngest chefs learn best by doing, touching, and exploring. In these classes, kids mix, measure, sprinkle, and assemble while getting comfortable with new foods and simple kitchen tools. The focus is on curiosity, confidence, and joyful discovery. Every success, big or small, helps them feel proud of what they made.

Ages 7 to 12

This is where skills start to stick. Kids follow recipes, learn techniques, and work together to bring dishes to life. They begin to understand how ingredients work, how flavors come together, and how teamwork makes cooking more fun. By the end of class, they leave with new skills, new confidence, and something delicious to show for it.

Ages 13 to 17

This is where teens start cooking with intention. They learn practical techniques, take more responsibility in the kitchen, and understand how preparation and timing make everything run more smoothly. These skills help them feel more confident now while preparing them for the independence that comes later.

Meet the Chef

CHARLENE KIRK

Charlene Kirk believes the kitchen is one of the most powerful classrooms a child can have.

Over the years, she has seen how quickly confidence grows when kids get the chance to cook for themselves. She’s watched hesitant hands turn steady, curious questions turn into proud smiles, and realized that cooking is about much more than just food. It’s about helping kids discover what they’re capable of.

Charlene holds a Bachelor of Science in Human and Environmental Sciences from the University of Arkansas, along with certifications in Plant-Based Nutrition and the Food is Elementary curriculum, a nationally recognized program that teaches nutrition through hands-on, sensory learning. She has worked with schools, youth programs, libraries, and community organizations across Arkansas, supporting children and families through education and enrichment.

After spending many years living and studying in the United Kingdom, Charlene returned home with a clear purpose. She wanted to create a welcoming space where kids feel encouraged to try, explore, and grow. Creative Culinary Kids was built to be that place. A kitchen where curiosity is celebrated, mistakes are part of learning, and confidence grows with every recipe.

What Families Are Saying

SEE WHAT’S COOKING

The best part of what happens here isn’t just the food. It’s the confidence kids build, the excitement they bring home, and the pride they feel in what they create.

Families often tell us their kids leave eager to cook again, more willing to try new foods, and excited to share what they learned. These moments are what make the kitchen such a powerful place to grow.

"The Global Culinary Adventure Camp was a wonderful experience for my daughter. She loved learning about different countries through food and came home excited every day to tell us what she made. It's a great mix of fun and real cooking skills. She also made some new friends."

- Michael, Parent

"The pizza pocket class was so much fun! I liked making the marinara sauce because we got to chop up the carrots, celery and onion by ourselves. My favorite part was rolling out and folding the dough then putting in the filling. It tasted so good when I dipped it in the marinara sauce.. I want to do another cooking class!"

- Sam, Student Age 10

"What a fantastic camp experience! Chef Charlene is patient, encouraging, and clearly great with kids. My daughter loved the global theme and was so proud to show us the recipes at the end of the week. One of her favorites was the Korean tacos. She's enjoyed making the recipes for the family."

- Liz, Parent

"I loved the Valentine’s baking class! We made mini Victoria sponge cakes in little cups then added jam and buttercream icing and topped it with strawberries and sprinkles. It looked really pretty and tasted really good. My favorite part was decorating it. The Jammie Dodger cookies were really fun too because we got to cut out the shapes and put jam in the middle."

- Emma, Student Age 11
